I was younger than 8, we lived in Minnesota, we were at some sort of fair or place they would be selling cotton candy. I asked for some. I was told something like, it's to expensive, we have a cotton candy maker at home, we can make our own. I believed it. It must have been along way home, or a late night, because I would forget about the cotton candy. I wouldn't remember until the next time I was near cotton candy. I still wonder, did we really have a cotton candy maker, or were they lying to me?! (for those of you who don't know my parents or their collection of things, it is entirely possible that we did own a cotton candy maker, somewhere in that basement)
I love cotton candy!
Sometimes I just buy it at winco, for myself, for fun. If we are any place that cotton candy is being sold, like the school carnival, the fair, wherever, I have to have some!
When my friend, who was running this year's end of school year carnival, needed someone to make cotton candy, there was no hesitation in my mind. The job was for me!!! A true life long dream!!!
Now after the experience is over, just a few tidbits of cotton candy knowledge you need to know before making cotton candy at your house! Make it outside!!!! Even if you live in Washington, and it looks like it might rain. MAKE IT OUTSIDE!!!! (I cleaned my kitchen for many hours the next day. The floors were coated, the counter tops were coated, the cabnets were coated, the sliding glass door, and windows were coated, the curtains were coated. I don't thing there was one thing that didn't get a sticky sweet cotton candy coating on it!
Next time you eat cotton candy take a big bit for me!!!!

And my parents wouldn't buy it for me either! kept saying it would make me sick or some sort of nonsense like that!
If someone ever needs a cotton candy maker I will make sure & volunteer becasue it sounds like it would be a total blast! But I'll take your advice & do it outside. LOL Thanks for the inside info my friend! <3 you!
Funny, I've always HATED cotton candy...but my kids and hubby love it!!
Way fun! And yes we did have a cotton candy machine! I remember using it in Seattle at least, I'm sure we had it in Minnesota as well.
