April happenings in June?

Yes, I am SLOW!!! April 3rd was Spencer's 8th birthday! I did a post about him becoming a Cub Scout, but not about his birthday or his baptism! So it is officially catch up time! I just can't let those special occasions go by without a post!
As always, Spencer's birthday fell during Spring Break! We started the day off with oh, so yummy crepes, and General Conference. (can the kid get a break, NOPE) In between conference sessions we went to a nearby park with a group of friends from church and had an Easter Egg Hunt! We did presents that evening (before Blake left for the Priesthood session)
Spencer was excited to receive his very own set of Scriptures! I even made a carrying case for him! (I love to recycle, so I used old jeans, and Blake's old black work shirts! It turned out great. He has a cool pocket on one side and an appliqued 'S' on the other! Why don't I have a picture of it . . . good question!?)
Spencer decided he could hold off on his cake till Sunday, Easter, and another Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Perkins House. He choose a Carrot Cake (Man He has GOOD TASTE!), and we decorated it with Eight orange carrots! (I know we took a picture of it! but where???)
Spencer seemed to have fun and enjoy his birthday! For his 8th birthday I'll list 8 random things about Spencer!
~He has an amazing Smile!
~He has a Tender Heart
~Spencer LOVES to Read!
~Spencer ate a slug as a baby! YUCK!
~Spencer loves to sing and dance, he has got the moves!
~He loves to be outside playing
~He loves to laugh and joke
~He loves random facts

On April 11th Spencer choose to be Baptized and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! It was a great day! Grandma Rose came down from Seattle, Uncle Karl and the kids came over from Hillsboro, and all the Perkins family in the area were there. It was extra special because Spencer's cousin Brian was able to be baptized at the same time! I love this picture! How awesome that two brothers could have the opportunity to baptize their own boys on the same day. What a memory for those boys as well! We seriously love that our kids have the opportunity to live in the same area as their cousins and truly 'be friends' with them! Neither Blake nor I had that opportunity, we both always lived far away from grandparent, and family. One of the selling points of living in Vancouver for us!

Spencer and his Daddy! Three years before, Blake baptized Ryan, that day Blake was really sick, didn't attend church, and looked like death was warming over as he baptized Ryan. Well, almost the same thing happened at Spencer's baptism! Blake was really sick, didn't attend church, but was able to pull it together for the baptism. He doesn't look quiet as sick as he did with Ryan! We are hoping that in 3 years when Caleb is baptized Blake will NOT be SICK!

We are so proud of Spencer and his choice to be baptized! He is an awesome kid! A great brother, and son! WE JUST LOVE HIM!!!

I can not believe he is old enough to be baptised. Your boys are seriously the funniest kids I have ever met!

I love to read your blog too! The doggie things are hilarious. Our address is 3536 Alexandrite Way, Round Rock, TX 78681. Seth would love a letter, and I'm sure will send one to Caleb! He really misses Caleb.
