Where has the time gone? The past 2 weeks have just been a whirl. All the end of school year stuff makes for busy, crazy life!

Ryan started Karate the week after his birthday! He is way excited and really enjoying himself. They have 3 rules that are mucho important: self-defense only, There is NO excuse for bad manners, and No whining! Good rules that apply both at class and at home. Also, they are not allowed to do karate outside of class unless they check with a parent first and are under adult supervision. That was a big one for me. I was like we are going to take him to a class and then he'll come home and beat on his brothers! Sounds GOOD! But not with these rules! It has been going really good. When he starts to whine (like Ryan loves to do) we just say, no whining! He is truly learning control of his body! I went to watch the other day and they did this drill with a partner where they we not suppose to move, or have there eyes leave their partners. If they did so there partner was to yell 'eyes, eyes, eyes', or 'your moving, your moving, your, moving'. Prior to this Ryan would have had a very very difficult time. What can I say, he has to move. But that day in class he did very well. He is more aware of his body and what he is doing. It will be very good for him!

Spencer had his last coach pitch game on the 14th and we had a team party on the 19th. We went early to save the spot at the park, since Blake was the unofficial assistant coach. But before any of the team could get there I had to leave with most of the kids to go home. Spencer lost his cookies, as they say! He felt yucky the rest of the night and the next day he slept till around 10:00. He lounged for a while and then was back to his old self the rest of the afternoon! Why do kids get sick in the summer!?????

Saturday morning was Emily's Ballet Recital, we were all going to go, but Grace woke up sick!!!!!! Nothing worse that a pukey baby! At least when they get bigger they try to aim! Blake got it all over him and then this morning all over his breakfast plate. Grace did it, not Blake! But on Saturday since there was no way I was taking Grace to a recital, we stayed home with Caleb too. I heard Emily did a wonderful job! She is a beautiful Ballerina! And we are very proud of all her hard work! I love to watch her dance!

The rest of the day we did home improvement projects! As some of you from the area noticed we have put our home up for sale! We are in the process of trying to buy a home in our ward boundaries, and school boundaries, that is on an acre. We are pretty excited and hope things continue to progress in that direction! Lots of different factors involved in that, but if that doesn't come through, we are going to stay where we are. We love the house and yard where we are, but the property and possibilities that come with the new place are so great too! It is weird to want two things that are so different all at the same time! Time will tell what happens!
Before putting the For Sale sign up
(yes, we did just paint the house. don't you love the colors!)

This past Wednesday was the last day of school! Report cards looked great! It is so weird for me to think that Emily will be going to Middle School next year!!! Am I really THAT old? So since Em was 'graduating' from elementary school, they had the parents come for individual classroom awards, as well as a whole 5th grade reception with cake and punch. In Emily's class they voted on a life skill for each kid. Emily class chose 'problem solving' as the life skill she best represented. All year long they kept track of the # of pages they read. Emily was the runner up for most pages. She was given an award and a gift certificate to Boarders! MORE BOOKS!!!!! They also presented them with really nice graduation diplomas! It was really fun! I will post the pictures later!
So much else has happened the past 2 weeks, but i think that is most of the highlights!
Oh we also went rafting down the Washugal river with some friends, kids and all! It was a beautiful day and we had a great time! This river is normally not high enough to float this time of the year, so we were grateful for rainy weather so we could experience it so late in the year.(And catch a few rays!) It made us crave more!!! Maybe we'll have to make a trip to Boise and hit the river with our favorite Wells Family!!!

You've had a lot on your plate, haven't you?! Good luck selling your house. It looks great. It was so fun seeing you when we were in town.
