Yesterday was Ryan's 9th birthday! I can't believe he is getting so big! For his birthday he decided he wanted to take a friend, Everett, to see the movie Kung Fu Panda. So, on Saturday, Blake took them plus Spencer to the movies. They all had a great time! On Ryan's actual birthday we had crepes with whipping cream and strawberries for breakfast! It was sooooo yummy!
Grandma and Grandpa Perkins came over for dinner, cake and presents. Ryan had a good day! Grandma Rose and Aunt Becky even called and sang him happy birthday in the morning. And then this morning Bishop McKague called and wished him a happy birthday too! While we had our yummy breakfast we talked about the day Ryan was born! Blake and I walked to the hospital from our house (3 or so blocks away), and every now and then we'd have to stop and have a contraction. When we got to the hospital we walked up to the desk and said we were there to have a baby. The lady looked at us kind of weird and asked if I was in labor. We got to the hospital around 4 pm and Ryan was born at 7:25 pm. One of my best labor and delivery experiences! Oh Natural! I felt sooo Empowered! Ryan was so cute and we just loved that he had a dimple!!! As a little baby he had a crib with wheels that we would move where ever we need him to sleep. On the average night He would start out in our large walk in closet (which also served as Emilys room) When Emily went to bed we would roll him into our room. And when we would go to bed, we'd roll him into the dinning room/front room! He moved around a lot!!! Ryan has lived in Cleveland, Ohio; Fairborn (Dayton), Ohio; Beale AFB, California: and Vancouver, Washington.
Ryan is my boy, he is a Rose (without the last name)! Ryan is very creative and would be happy anywhere as long he had tape, paper, cardboard and a writing tool. He loves to read and play the computer.
He has been studying about Scotland for a project for school and has really enjoyed learning about our heritage. He even dressed up in our version of a kilt for his project. It isn't our tartan, but it was all we had on hand. His Tam is actually a pumpkin hat for the costume I made for Emily when she was a baby! And note the Flashing on his socks! He is our Scottish Boy!!! Isn't he awesome!!! He wore it all day long! And even to the library on Saturday! (don't worry he wears shorts underneath!) He loves to talk with a Scottish accent. I think it would be fun if he served his mission there when he turns 19! Wouldn't that be GREAT!Here is Ryan presenting his book about Scotland.

I can't believe I just found your blog! I have been reading Tiff's and Shan's forever. I am glad Jill had you listed. I am Blake's cousin, Sherlauna's youngest daughter. I have had such a fun time reading about your family. I can hardly believe you have 5 kids. I don't think you had any since I saw you last, not sure though. That picture of I think it is Ryan with the Scottish outfit on looks like some picture of a perkins family member that I have seen before. Fun stuff.
